Use an external Ambient Clockit! or comparable device to JAM SYNC the cameras as follow:
1. Power down both cameras.
2. Connect cameras as described in CONNECTING.
3. Verify that the time base of the external timecode source matches the timebase of the project to be
recorded.
4. Power up both cameras.
5. Through the Master camera UI, enable Jam Sync (this will command the Slave camera as well). Refer
to OPERATION.
GENLOCK
Interconnecting the Master and Slave cameras via USB cable does NOT lock the sensor and video frame
reference timing between the cameras. The correct configuration for GENLOCK is to supply each camera
an external RS-170A Tri-Level Sync source and then enable GENLOCK for each camera.
Use an external Ambient Clockit! or comparable device to GENLOCK the cameras as follow:
1. Power down both cameras.
2. Connect cameras as described in CONNECTING.
3. Verify that the time base of the external timecode source matches the timebase of the project to be
recorded.
4. Power up both cameras.
5. Through the Master camera UI, enable GENLOCK (this will command the Slave camera as well). Refer
to OPERATION.
OPERATION
SETUP
When connected together in master / slave configuration, none of the controls on the slave camera will
function. When adjusting the following settings on the master camera, the same adjustments will be made
to the slave camera:
MAGNIFY (Image Zoom) command
SENSITIVITY (ISO rating) command
AUTO WHITE BALANCE calculation command
MANUAL WB command following Tungsten or Daylight or Auto WB fictions refer to SENSOR MENU
CONTROLS > COLOR TEMP > TRIM
NOTE: Auto WB value and FLUT parameters are not locked between cameras in order to permit in-
camera correction of color shift and transmission loss through beam splitter mirror.
TINT setting
Addition of TRIM sub-menu to COLOR TEMP menu when cameras are in master / slave configuration
and rebooted. Refer to SENSOR MENU CONTROLS > COLOR TEMP > TRIM
